Steamed Salmon With Tofu And Egg Recipe
(adapted from ‘No More Failed Recipes’ cookbook published by GIPH Media Pte Ltd)
300g salmon (one can always substitute with other fish fillet)
2 boxes of silken tofu
some chopped spring onion (optional – I used up some *leftover frozen ones)
2 pinches of salt
1/2 tbsp potato starch (or cornflour)
2 dashes of white pepper
2 dashes of sesame oil
2 tsps of fish sauce
- Cut salmon and tofu into dices. Beat egg.
- Combine well salmon, tofu, egg and Seasonings A in a steaming dish ; cover with cling wrap.
- Bring water in the steamer to a boil. Steam fish and tofu mixture over high heat for about 10 minutes (or until cooked). Remove.
- Drizzle over fish sauce and scatter chopped spring onions on top to serve.
Cost of dish (minus cost of seasonings)per serving:
350g of toman fish fillet (2 pkts) – $6.88
2 boxes of silken tofu – $1.45
2 medium eggs – $0.20×2 – $0.40
Total : $8.73/4 = $2.18
